It can happen to anyone: you purchase a great pair of dark denim jeans only to have that dark blue transfer onto your shirt. Or you’re wearing a deep red satin top and it bleeds onto your winter white pants. These items have been mistakenly placed into the washing machine together; they are bleeding because, unfortunately, deep colors do that. Luckily, your clothes are not ruined forever. With a few household products (that you may already have in your laundry room) you can get out those stains forever. Pour laundry detergent directly onto the stained area. Use enough detergent to saturate only the stain. Leave the detergent on the stain for at least one hour. Fill a small bucket with cold water. Add to the bucket 1 cup of bleach or color-safe bleach (check the tag of the clothing; if it says non-chlorine bleach only, use a color-safe bleach).
