Most everybody knows of the traditional and well-known methods of removing ink from paper. If the ink is erasable ink, your solution is easy—just erase the ink. However, most ink is not erasable. You can try correction fluid, but if the document is important, you might not want to use such an unprofessional-looking method. With the appropriate chemicals, though, you can remove toner ink from paper, although it is a delicate and challenging process. Put on your rubber gloves, then dilute one tbsp. of hydrochloric acid (also known as Spirit of Salts) in five tbsps. of water in a small bowl. Dip a cotton ball into the solution, then gently rub the solution on the toner ink you wish to remove from the paper. Allow the solution to sit on the paper for approximately one to two minutes. Wipe the solution away with a dampened cotton ball. The toner ink should wipe away as well.
