How do you remove the steering column ignition switch tumbler on a 1995 Corvette?
To change the ignition tumbler on a 95 Corvette you first need to remove the air bag. You must take cation when completing this task. If you have limited automotive backround you should not complete this repair because of the risk of serious injury and the need for specialty tools. If you decide to continue disconnect the battery for a minimum of 30 minutes before removing the airbag. * Safety note* when handling the airbag make sure you carry the airbag with the front facing up while holding away from your body. Once the airbag is removed and in a safe area ,still facing up ,take off the steering wheel retaining nut and using a steering wheel puller remove the steering wheel. The next step you should complete is to unbolt the turn signal and hazard switch assembly and gently pull aside-you should not have to unplug the wires.
