How Do You Remove The Startup Hardware Configuration Options In Windows 2000 Server?
The Windows 2000 operating system starts a “Server Configuration” screen each time you reboot the machine. This hardware configuration window is shown until you configure the machine to stop displaying it. The configuration window is displayed to help domain administrators quickly edit the server settings on a new computer. The screen can be disabled in the Windows registry, so it is no longer shown at bootup. Click the Windows “Start” button and select “Run.” In the text box shown, enter “regedit” and press the “OK” button. This opens the Windows registry editor. Navigate to the following registry directory: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Setup\Welcome Right-click the registry key labeled “srvwiz.” Select “Modify” from the menu. Enter “0” for the value in the dialog box that pops up. Press the “OK” button to save your settings. The next time you boot the Windows machine, the hardware configuration window is not displayed.
