The shroud is the outer cover of the Hayward Aquabug, and it’s the colorful shell that gives the Aquabug it’s buggy personality. It houses and protects all the mechanisms that makes the Aquabug an efficient and effective pool cleaner. Removing it involves disassembling all the cleaner’s working parts. Here’s how to do it. Lay the Aquabug upside down on the work bench to access the bottom assembly. Get out your electric drill and a Phillip’s head bit to remove screws from the Aquabug. Remove the 5 screws holding the bottom suction plate, the throat and the bottom assembly to the unit. Pull the bottom unit out with your fingers and set it aside. Put all the screws in a container to keep them together as you remove them. Locate the 6 screws holding the base plate in place (3 screws on each side). Remove all 6 screws, place them in the container and pull off the base plate and bumper. Set the base plate assembly aside. Turn the Aquabug right side up while holding your hand against the lowe
