Some of HP’s computers reserve an area on the primary hard drive to store a recovery utility program. This partition is typically set as the D:\ drive and is labeled Factory_Image. This drive contains a recovery program that allows the user to perform a factory settings reinstall, which puts the computer back to the way it was when the computer came out of the box.
