Hyundai introduced the Sonata in 1985. It has received several redesigns over the years, including one in 2002 and another in 2006. You can remove the radio in any Sonata built between 2002 and 2008 with ease; however, the process is quite different between body styles. Wear gloves and follow safety recommendations when removing or replacing a vehicle’s radio. 2002 to 2005 Sonata Step 1 Disconnect the battery for safety. Use your pliers to loosen the negative battery cable (black), and then pull the cable away. Step 2 Remove the radio surround panel. Grasp the panel along the bottom (below the A/C controls) and pull it away to unclip it. Continue pulling the other sides of the panel away. Unplug the HVAC connection from behind. Step 3 Remove the four screws with a Phillips screwdriver; pull the radio from the dash. Unplug the harness and antenna from the rear. 2006 to 2008 Sonata Step 1 Disconnect the negative (black) battery cable. This prevents shock when working with electronics. St
