How Do You Remove The Odor Of Permanent Markers?
As useful as permanent markers are, they can smell very bad. Worse still, the fumes can be hazardous if you’re stuck in a poorly ventilated area with them. For many projects, the solution is just airing out the room for a few minutes. However, projects requiring lots of permanent ink can emit strong fumes for days or even weeks after the project is finished. The trick is to accelerate this emission of fumes. Put the marked up item inside the plastic bag. Put in two or three fabric softener sheets or pour in a cup of baking soda. Seal the bag and store in a cool, dry place for two to three days. Open the bag and check progress. If the object still smells strongly, replace the fabric softener sheets or baking soda and store for another day or two. Leave the object out to air for a day once the smell is no longer strong.
