How Do You Remove The Motor On A Kenmore Washing Machine?
The Sears Kenmore washing machine uses a motor coupler between the gearbox and the motor to rotate the agitator instead of a belt. You will need to remove the motor on the washing machine before you can access the motor coupler. Removing the Kenmore washing machine cabinet is the best way to access and remove the motor. Once you remove the cabinet, the parts will be readily accessible and you will have room to work. Disconnect the Kenmore washer power cord from the outlet. Turn off the two water spigots that supply water to the washing machine. Remove the front trim off the ends of the control console. You can pull the trim off of the console with your fingers. There will be a screw on each end of the control console where the console meets the top panel. Remove the screws with a Phillips head screwdriver and lift the front of the control console back toward the wall. The console will rest on service hinges in this position. Locate the electrical connector on the top rear of the dryer.
