How Do You Remove The Hard Drive From An HP Pavilion Laptop?

0

HP first introduced the Pavilion desktop in 1995. Since then, the line has expanded to include a number of other desktop and laptop models. The hard drive on this series of laptops is in an easy-to-reach bay on the underside of the case. To remove the hard drive from an HP Pavilion laptop, open the hard drive compartment and slide the drive out of the laptop case. Turn off your HP Pavillion laptop. Unplug the laptop from the wall. Turn your laptop upside down and remove the battery. Turn the laptop so that the front is facing you. Remove the screws from the memory compartment in the middle and the hard drive compartment on the right. Lift the cases up and out of the way. Ground yourself by touching a large metal object. This will dissipate any static electricity that may have built up in your body, which can damage sensitive electronic components such as hard drives. Lift up on the metal casing that holds the drive. Remove the drive by sliding it out of the case to the right.
