Removing worn-out hand grips on your Honda Shadow Aero cruiser can go a long way to relieving your hands of numbing discomfort during long rides. Unfortunately, with no visible means of removing the hand grips from the handlebars, many Aero owners must bring their motorcycles into their local dealership to replace the grips, usually at great expense. In truth, removing the hand grips is much easier than it would appear and can be done in minutes. Unscrew the end caps from the hand grips by hand and set them aside. If the end caps are badly damaged or worn, replace them instead. Cut down the center of the hand grip with a razor. Cut completely through the grip to make removal easier. Pull the hand grip off of the handlebar or throttle tube once the grip has been cut. Remove any remaining grip fragments and dried adhesive from the handlebar or throttle tube with medium-grit sandpaper.
