The Generic Downloader Virus, also referred to as Trojan Generic, is a downloader Virus. This means that once your computer is infected with the virus, a security hole is opened up which can be used by a remote hacker to download additional viruses and to procure your personal information. In addition, the Generic Downloader Virus will slow your computer, change your Internet settings, reduce your available computer memory, and flood your computer with popup advertisements. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete. Click on the “Task Manager,” and the click on the “Processes” tab. End all of the processes listed under the “Stop Generic Processes” header at the link below.
