You don’t have to go, to all that trouble, unless, as I guess, you have a leaking heater matrix, located deep within the dash and a common toyota fault. If this is the case, patiently locate and remove 300,000 small screws, 100,000 clips and remove the dash piecemeal until you can gain access to said knackered matrix. If your memory is not what it was, a digital camera is useful to document the process should you (inevitably) become confused as to how it goes back together. If however you live in a warm climate, a very quick (temporary) fix is to disconnect the water feed pipes from the engine to the heater and loop one pipe back onto where the other leaves the engine ie so that the water stays in the engine and does not reach the matrix, thereby “fixing” the leak.
