How Do You Remove The Dash From A Mustang?
Nothing looks worse on a car than a beat-up dash. As the sun hits the vinyl lining of a dash, in time it will break and crack, exposing foam to the air. Over the years, the exposed foam collects dirt and debris. It may yellow and tear apart, leaving your classic Mustang with a serious eyesore. If you are restoring a Mustang or removing parts for use in other cars, you will find the dash comes off without too much hassle. Disconnect the car battery by removing the negative connection. Remove the screws around the temperature control panel (A/C and heater panel) on the dash. Pull the control out. Pull the ashtray off the brackets and set it aside. Remove any screws holding the ashtray brackets in place and pull the brackets out of the dash. Reach up through the hole left by the ashtray and disconnect any cables to the speedometer and other displays on the instrument panel. Remove the screws around the instrument panel and pull the instrument cluster out to remove the dashboard. Take out
