How Do You Remove The Back Seat Of A 1979 Cadillac Coupe Deville?
The 1979 Cadillac Coupe Deville is a large car with plenty of room to work in. Removing the large back seat does not have to be a complicated task if you use the car’s spacious interior to assist in removing the seat. Once the seat is loosened, you can tilt it up and slide it out of the door. Open both doors for easy removal of the seat. Tilt both driver and passenger seats forward. Slide the seats as far forward as possible. Grasp the bottom cushion on each end of the back seat. Push toward the back of the car while lifting up. The seat will free itself from the locking mechanism. Pull the cushion out and slide it out of the car. Locate the bolts toward the bottom of the seat back. There will be a bolt on the bottom right and bottom left. Unbolt those with a socket wrench. Lift the seat back up to free it from the bracket. Slide it out of the door. Place both pieces in a cool dry area to prevent warping of the seat cushions.
