Watches range in quality and typically by there price. Most cheaper watches have a battery that is under the back of the watch head. This back can be removed by unscrewing two to four screws usually. On more expensive watches like the Nixon Key watch, the back is attached with a special tool in order to keep the watch waterproof. The special watch back removal tool can be purchased from any jeweler or watch store. Go to your local jewelry store or watch store. Purchase a waterproof watch back remover tool. Flip your Nix Key watch face down on a table. Locate the notches on opposite sides of the back watch cover. Position the waterproof watch back remover over the notches on the back of the Nixon watch cover. Screw the waterproof watch back remover down to the size that will snugly fit into the notches on opposite sides of the back watch cover. Rotate the waterproof watch back remover tool counter-clockwise until the back cover comes out.
