Copper jewelry is beautiful and is attributed by some to have enormous health benefits, but it can tarnish over time. This tutorial will explain how to remove tarnish from copper jewelry and other household copper items. Step 1 Take your tarnished copper and place it into a small, shallow bowl. Step 2 Take a second small bowl and fill it with a mixture of clean, cold water and about 1 tablespoon of baking soda. Set aside. Step 3 Pour just enough vinegar (usually about 1 cup) into the bowl to cover your copper piece. Sprinkle a few shakes of salt (about 1 teaspoon) into the bowl and stir for twenty to thirty seconds or until the vinegar eats away the tarnish.
