The System Configuration utility in the Windows operating system allows you to make changes to the programs that are set to start with the operating system. By removing startup programs with the System Configuration utility, you can increase the speed of the operating system and make the computer boot faster. Boot your computer and log in to the operating system. Click on the “Start” button, click on the “Run” option and type “MSCONFIG” into the Run window (without quotes). Click the “OK” button and then click on the “Startup” tab in the System Configuration utility window that appears. Uncheck the programs that you wish to remove from starting up with the computer and then click the “OK” button. Restart the computer to apply the settings changes that you made.
