How Do You Remove Stains From Polyester Clothes?

Polyester is a synthetic fiber used for clothing due to its durable qualities that make it a long-lasting investment. Polyester apparel is strong, colorfast and resistant to wrinkles and most stains. Water-based liquids such as grape juice and blood don’t usually damage polyester. However, oil-based stains such as lipstick and motor oil tend to last. The sooner you are able to remove a stain from polyester, the better the results will appear. Scrub the stain immediately, or as soon as possible using a stain remover and warm water. Treat the stain with a pre-wash soil remover before the wash. Turn the garment inside out. Put the garment in the washing machine with an all-purpose detergent on the warm water setting. Add chlorine bleach if necessary, unless the washing instructions on the tag discourage it. Repeat steps 2 through 5 if the stain persists. Dry the garment at a low temperature on the tumble-dry setting to reduce shrinking.
