You don’t want to use a harsh chemical to remove the stains but you do want to get the task done quickly. With the right directions and cleaning solution, you can remove stains on concrete floors in no time. Sweep the entire basement floor to remove any loose dust, dirt or debris. Wear rubber gloves, a nose mask and safety goggles. Damp mop the stained areas on the cement floor. Use warm water. Mix two tbsp. of chlorine bleach and 10 cups of warm water in a bucket. Agitate the mixture gently by shaking the bucket. Use 150-grit sandpaper to sand down any stain consisting of oil, grease or heavy grime, then move on to Step 5. If your stain is not oil, grease or heavy grime, skip this step and go directly to Step 5.
