How Do You Remove Spilt Wax From Carpet?

0

Candles are lovely and decorative and can fill your home with the lovely scent of cinnamon and spices. One false move, however, and you’ve got a nasty spill to try to clean up. Since candle wax is liquid when it is hot and quickly cools into a hard-to-remove solid, you may be staring at your damaged carpeting in horror wondering what to do about it. Luckily, you can remove spilt wax on carpeting by returning it to its liquid form and allowing it to seep into another medium. Make sure the candle wax is cool and hardened before attempting to remove. Scrape off large amounts of wax with a nail file or butter knife, being careful not to tear at the carpet fibers. You may ice the area to make the wax harder and easier to remove by placing ice cubes in a plastic container or sealed baggie and rubbing it over the area while you work at it. Turn your iron on high to the “Steam” setting. Preheat the area you will be working on by holding the iron an inch above the stain and depressing the steam
