How Do You Remove Soft Contact Lens When Its Stuck?
Steps to follow if the contact lens is stuck to the eye. The following steps apply to soft contact lenses only. Place a few drops of multipurpose solution, saline solution, or rewetting drops into your eye. Multipurpose solutions such as Alcon’s Optifree Express/Replenish, Bausch & Lomb’s Renu Multiplus/Sensitive Eyes. You may also use AMO’s Lens Plus saline, Ciba Vision’s Softwear Saline. Blink a lot for 10-15 seconds. Place the pad of your fingertip on the edge of the contact lens and slide it onto the white of the eye. Be careful not to scratch your eye with your fingernail. If the contact lens doesn’t slide onto the white of the eye, repeat steps 1 & 2 and try again. Once you slide the contact lens on to the white of the eye, pinch it to grab it out of the eye. Again, be careful not to scratch your eye with your fingernail.
