How Do You Remove Soap Scum From A Shower Head?
Soap scum is a combination of dirt, soap and calcium. It may also be the result of magnesium filled water (hard water) that makes a crusty film all over your shower and tub. Cleaning the tiles, tub and shower doors may be easy, but cleaning a shower head can be a bit trickier. Fill a pot with one quart of hot water and one cup of vinegar. Make sure you select a container that is large enough so the entire shower head can be submerged in the solution. Unfasten the shower head from the pipe. If you have a fixed shower head that’s attached directly to a pipe in the wall, remove any screws on the underside with a screw driver. Then unscrew the shower head itself from the pipe. In many cases, you can do this with your hand. If that doesn’t work, use a pair of vise grip pliers or a crescent wrench. Once the shower head is free, submerge it completely into the solution. If you can’t take off the shower head for some reason, pour the solution into a large plastic bag and attach it to the water
