The process is inconvenient, messy and annoying, but the odor is not impossible to neutralize. Mix a solution of one quart of 3 percent hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup of baking soda, and a tsp. of liquid detergent. Double or triple the formula based on the size of the dog. Bathe the animal in the liquid using a cloth or sponge and let it stay on the fur and skin for five minutes. Rinse with water and repeat if necessary. For best results bathe the dog outside if possible so as not to contaminate your home. The mixture will not work if it sits for any length of time. It must be mixed fresh and used immediately.
