Sellotape, which originated in England in the 1930s, is basically a double-sided sticky tape. Because it comes in a variety of sizes, it can be used to help mend just about anything. Sellotape is probably used most often for wrapping presents; a gift looks that much better when you can’t see the Scotch tape keeping the sides together. Unfortunately, like most tapes, Sellotape leaves a sticky residue when you remove it. Thankfully, that problem is easily remedied. Remove the majority of the Sellotape by lifting up one of the corners of the tape and pulling it away from the object that it is stuck to. The Sellotape will most likely leave a sticky residue behind. Apply heat to the Sellotape (or the leftover residue) with your hair dryer. Heat up a small section at a time and pick away the tape and residue with your fingers or a plastic putty knife. Saturate the corner of your small hand towel with rubbing alcohol.
