How Do You Remove Scale From Shower Doors?
Removing hard water stains and lime scale from shower glass usually involves either harsh chemicals or large amounts of elbow grease – sometimes both. This is the easiest way I’ve found. First cut open a garbage bag on all three seams so that you have one large sheet of plastic. It doesn’t have to cover the whole shower door at once – you can work in sections if you prefer. Fill the spray bottle two-thirds full with white vinegar and the rest of the way with plain tap water. Thoroughly spray down an area a little smaller than the bag and cover it with the plastic. Gently smooth out the bubbles – the solution will help it stick to the glass. This keeps the solution in contact with the scale for as long as you need it. ***IMPORTANT*** Don’t let the mixture dry under the plastic. Peel the plastic off every 4 or 5 minutes and re-wet the area using the spray bottle. Continue the peeling and re-wetting for about half an hour.
