How Do You Remove Rust & Pot Marks From A Porcelain Sink?
Beautiful and durable, porcelain sinks require minimal upkeep to maintain their appearance. With day-to-day use, however, your porcelain sink will encounter a number of things that may temporarily mar its appearance, such as scuff marks from pots and rust. While irritating to look at, these stains are far from permanent. With a little knowhow, your porcelain sink can be restored to its original pristine state. Soak a clean cloth or sponge in white vinegar. Set the cloth directly on top of the rust stain, making sure to cover the entire stain. Allow the affected area to soak for an hour. Scrub the area with a cloth soaked in white vinegar. Repeat as needed until the stain is gone. Sprinkle baking soda liberally onto the stain. Dampen a piece of 400-grit sandpaper with clean water. Scrub the stain gently with the sandpaper and baking soda. Apply more baking soda as needed and continue to scrub until the stain is gone. Rinse the area with clean water.
