Verizon Wireless, along with many other cell phone providers offer their users a feature called “Ringback Tones.” A ringback tone is played for a caller that calls your cellphone instead of the standard telephone ringing tone. A variety of ringback tones are available, many of which are popular songs and audio clips. You can change your ringback tone settings from your Verizon Wireless online account, however you must call customer service or visit a Verizon Wireless store to remove ringback tones all together. Dial “611” and press “Send” on your handset. Select the option to speak with a customer service representative. You can also press “0” at any time to be connected with an operator. Tell the customer service representative that you would like to cancel the Ringback Tone service on your account or on your line, depending on your preference. The representative will process the request and the Ringback Tones service will be cancelled.
