well with all red wine stain´s you use white wine to remove it . don´t worry if it has dried over night , pour some white wine on top leave for a few min´s , then with some kitchen roll blot the stain , it should lift out, then wash with a little of your own shampoo this will not only clean the carpet , it will leave it smelling nice, with a towel lay on top off wet carpet put a heavy object on top of the towel this will lift out any remaining water from the underside of the carpet .
