Red tint is one of the most common problems with hair color. It’s often the result of color that has gold or red tones, and often doesn’t show up until the color starts to fade. Unfortunately, it can be very difficult to remove at home, but it can be done with some basic supplies from the beauty store. Look at your hair in the sun to determine if it is primarily brassy orange or red tinted. Red tint will need green color and brassy orange will need purple. You can mix green and purple together for a blue color if you need to. Mix your hair color and developer as indicated in the instructions included with the product. Add five drops of your chosen tint — green, purple or a mixture — to the mixed color and shake thoroughly. Check the color and add more drops as needed.
