How Do You Remove Plastic Tablecloth Folds?
New plastic tablecloths–or old tablecloths that have been stored for quite awhile–may develop set-in creases and folds where the “fabric” was bent. If your tablecloth is backed with flannel, you can simply iron the wrinkles out, applying the iron to the flannel side. If it’s fully plastic, however, you need to go to a bit more effort to remove the folds without ruining the tablecloth at the same time. Set your clothes dryer to its lowest heat setting, usually “low” or “delicate.” Saturate two or three towels with water from a spray bottle until they’re just damp, then place them in the dryer with the plastic tablecloth. Run the dryer on a timed setting, checking every three to five minutes to see if the wrinkles and creases have relaxed. As soon as you see that the folds have relaxed, take the tablecloth out; drying it for too long may melt it. Lay the tablecloth out on the table until it’s cool and dry. Leave in place if you’re entertaining right away, or fold the cloth, taking care
