This article will show you to remove that excess plaster without causing harm to your work. Once your sculpture is cool and removed from the mold use your brush to remove excess dust and plaster remnant. Look over your sculpture closely and identify any bumps, grooves or pooled plaster. Using your file slowly grate it across the excess pools and using your hand or towel remove the plaster dust. Repeat Step 3 until the area is smooth and level with the area it is around. When handling grooves or davits use sanding paper or a dremel sander (depending on the location) to sand the area until it is uniform with the surrounding area.
