Add a couple of drops of dish soap and gently stir it to mix it up. Step 3 Pour the solution onto the affected area, making sure to cover it thoroughly. Step 4 Allow the solution to sit on the area for 24 hours. Step 5 Blot up any residual solution with paper towels. Step 6 Repeat the process until the odor is completely gone.
