How Do You Remove Paint & Marker Stains?
Paint and ink markers can leave stains on a lot of surfaces, be they wood, furniture, carpeting or clothing. Marker stains can be especially troublesome, since they often absorb into whatever they stain. Paint itself can easily be removed once dried, but it can still leave stains behind. There are multiple ways to remove such stains, depending on what you need to get them out of. Use hair spay on marker stains on hard, finished surfaces like wood. Apply enough spray to saturate the stained area, and quickly wipe the spray away with paper towels. Doing this once or twice should remove most of the stain at least. Switch to an aerosol oil like WD-40 if any part of the stains remain. Apply the oil, cover it with plastic wrap, wait five minutes, and scrub the stain with a sponge soaked in warm water and a few drops of dish soap.
