How Do You Remove Oxidation From Paint?
Car owners often become frustrated when they see those familiar white, cloudy spots show up on their vehicle’s paint job. This is because these spots, called oxidation, have become infamous for being difficult to remove. When you are faced with this situation, use the same method that paint and body shop professionals use. Step 1 Apply the fine cut compound to the oxidized area and rub it in by hand with the yellow foam compounding pad, saturating the pad while you do it. Step 2 Attach the yellow pad to the polisher, set the pad against the oxidized area and turn on the polisher, using a maximum of 1,000 rpm. Step 3 Work the polisher over the area several times in a figure-8 pattern. Step 4 Pour equal parts of water and alcohol into a spray bottle and use it to clean the area with a microfiber cloth.
