How Do You Remove Old Bathtub Appliques?
Bathtub appliques wear out, become outdated, or the kids grow up and they seem less necessary. Whether it’s for aesthetic reasons or whether you simply want them gone, here’s how to remove bathtub appliques. Step 1 What kind of tub do you have? Is it an old-fashioned porcelain tub or a newer fiberglass tub? Powdered, abrasive cleansers should not be used on a fiberglass tub. If your tub is fiberglass, be sure that you have a gentle household cleaner handy, like Simple Green or Sun and Earth. Do not use metal tools on either type of bathtub. Test an inconspicuous spot of the tub with your tools and cleaners to be sure they are not too harsh. Step 2 Using the cuticle stick or plastic putty knife, gently loosen the edges of the appliqués.
