A majority of the oil leaks on the Chevrolet Blazer occur around the oil pan. The Chevrolet Blazer is a multiple-purpose utility vehicle that can cover most types of terrain. This can often leave the oil pan vulnerable to objects that the vehicle drives over. Changing out a bad oil pan or the gasket will only take half an hour to complete. Removing the oil pan also comes in handy when you are attempting to perform maintenance on the bottom portion of the motor. Locate the oil pan underneath the motor. Place a pan underneath to catch the oil. Loosen the drain plug with a crescent wrench. Allow all the oil to drain into the pan. Tighten the drain plug with the crescent wrench when the oil is through draining. Unscrew the bolts around the drain pan with a socket wrench. There will be 15 to 18 bolts to unscrew.
