How Do You Remove Oil Based Paint From Fabric?
Painting can often be a messy activity, resulting in seemingly impossible stains. Although you probably shouldn’t wear your favorite outfit when painting, there’s no need to consider any fabric stained with paint a complete loss. By taking a few simple measures with solutions you probably already have laying around the house, you may be able to finally win the battle against oil-based paint stains. Blot at the stain with a wet rag as soon as possible to remove as much of the paint as you can. Use mineral oil. If the stain is set into the fabric, blot with mineral oil or rubbing alcohol. This should help to loosen the paint. Rinse with water to remove the paint as it loosens from the fabric. When the majority of the paint is gone, scrub the stain with warm water and dish soap to remove the last remnants of the stain. Launder and dry as usual.
