Pour in 2 tbsp. of dish soap and 1/4 cup of baking soda for each gallon of water. The dish soap will clean food residue while the baking soda will deodorize the plastic. Dip the container into the water and use a sponge to scrub the container and lid thoroughly. Submerge the entire container and let sit in the hot water for one hour. Rinse the container with clean hot water to remove any soap residue and allow it to air dry.
