Though it’s always best to allow your camper tent to dry and air out completely before putting it away, there are times when the weather is too rainy or you’re in too much of a hurry to properly care for your camper tent. Treat mildew and mildew stains as soon as you discover them. If mold or mildew is present in your camper tent, it’s best to clean it before you go camping to prevent getting sick or suffering from allergies. Step 1 Assemble your camper tent. Vacuum it with a brush attachment to remove all loose dirt, mildew and mold. Step 2 Mix 1/2 cup Lysol in a bucket with 1 gallon hot water. Scrub your camper tent, paying extra attention to visible mildew stains. Step 3 Mix 1 cup lemon juice with 1 cup salt in 1 gallon hot water. Stir until the salt is dissolved. Use your clean rag to apply the mixture to your camper tent. Step 4 Allow the camper tent to air out and dry completely, preferably in the sun.
