How Do You Remove Mildew Smell From Stored Leather And Clothing?
The weather is changing, and it’s time to change your summer wardrobe for your winter clothes. You break out your boxed clothes from the basement or your storage container and you find there must have been a water leak or mini-flood inside, leaving your clothing and leather jacket with a sour mildew smell. Don’t despair! There are a variety of home remedies that just might take that smell away and return your clothes to their former natural glory. To take the mildew smell out of washable clothing, try adding 2 cups of white vinegar in with your clothes during the rinse cycle. Try adding lots of baking soda along with soap in the wash cycle and doing an extra rinse cycle. For leather, try spraying with 1/2 vinegar and 1/2 water, but test on a small area first to make sure it doesn’t leave a mark.
