Allow the washer to run through one cycle with no soap to get the initial bacteria off. Step 2 Set the washer to the hottest setting again. Allow the washer to fill with water. Add 1 to 2 cups of white vinegar to the water and allow the cycle to run. Do not add soap or anything else at this time. Step 3 Run the washer a third time on the hottest setting.
