How Do You Remove Mildew And Rust Stains From Clothes?
If your clothes stay damp for a period of time, you might have to deal with problems of mildew and rust. Mildew can grow quickly in laundry that isn’t dried after washing. Rust stains can sometimes come from rusty pipes going into your washing machine or from your clothes rubbing against something rusty. Both of these stains, however, are easy to treat using the same method. Cut a fresh lemon into several slices. Rub a lemon slice directly onto the stains, squeezing to put as much juice as possible on the stains. Place the clothing in direct sunlight and let it dry. Wash as usual. Check to make sure the stain is completely gone before putting the garment in the dryer. The heat of drying will set the stain and make it harder to remove. If the stain is not gone, repeat Steps 1 through 3 as necessary.
