likely (with the power off) you can remove the burner (if metal types) and then soak and scrub… no problem, if it’s a flat top range, Sears has the cleaner for them.

That depends. If it is thin plastic like that from a bread bag, just remove the excess by hand and burn the rest off. It will smell but won’t take to long to be gone. If it is the hard plastic like that of a milk carton, when it cools, you should be able to just chip it off.
