How Do You Remove Masking Tape Residue From Fabric?
When masking tape residue gets on glass or a smooth surface, it can be a real chore to clean it off. Usually you can scrape it with a razor, then wipe the surface clean. But if masking tape residue gets on fabric, it can be especially difficult to remove. There are several home remedies that can make removing masking tape residue from fabric easier. Step 1 Spray a light coat of WD-40 onto the masking tape residue. Allow it to sit for approximately ten minutes and use a cleaning cloth to wipe the area clean. Step 2 Plug the iron into the wall and allow it to heat to the low setting. Step 3 Place the paper towel over any masking tape that remains on the fabric. Step 4 Lay the smooth towel on top of the paper towel. Step 5 Rub the warm iron over the smooth towel. The heat will melt the adhesive and it will stick to the paper towel. Step 6 Wipe the area with a cleaning cloth and wash the fabric as you usually would.
