Lucite is cast in flat sheets and shipped with a brown, protective masking; the masking prevents any marring during shipping and when it’s cut to size. The masking is designed to flatly grip the Lucite, and it can be difficult the remove without damaging the surface of the Lucite. However, it’s possible to peel the masking away with the right tool. Step 1 Inspect each corner of the Lucite for any corners of the masking that have peeled away from the surface. It’s not uncommon for a corner to loosen during the cutting process that is completed to cut the Lucite to size.
