By acting quickly, you can not only absorb much of the marker before it dries, but also remove any dried stain residue. Gently blot the marker stain with paper towels if the stain has freshly come into contact with the upholstery. Spray hairspray onto the marker stain and blot with a paper towel, using a fresh area of paper towel with each blot.
