The key is to use a product that will make the marker ink liquid again. There are many products that will do this, including most hairsprays that contain alcohol–but there is one product that works exceptionally well, quickly and easily, and it may be closer than you think. Mark over the permanent marker with a dry erase marker, as suggested by ChicaAndJo.com. Cover the entire mark with the other marker–any part not covered will resist removal. Allow this to sit undisturbed for a minute. The chemicals in the dry erase marker will help to re-animate the chemicals in the permanent marker ink. Wipe over the mark with a paper towel or napkin.
