Love bugs are undoubtedly a problem on the front of your car if you live in the southeastern U.S. These little bugs are everywhere in the south and seem to be more prevalent on the busy roads. They have very fatty bodies and stick to automotive paint like glue. They can be removed with a little effort, but it is important to use a product that will not destroy the paint on your car while removing them. Step 1 Remove the love bugs as soon as you see them on your car. Spray the spot detailer on and gently wipe it off with the microfiber cloth. Start in an inconspicuous area of the car to test for paint damage from the cleaner. Step 2 Use a bug and tar remover on the stubborn spots. You can work in small areas, making your way along the vehicle until all the bugs have been removed. Step 3 Wash the entire car.
