How Do You Remove Lime Scale And Calcium Build Up From A Shower Head?
Trying to remove shower head lime scale and calcium build up? Shower heads can become clogged and slow do to calcium deposits. Here are a few tips on how to remove tough shower head limes and calcium deposits. Remove your shower head from the wall. Start by wrapping duct tape around the fitting to prevent scratching the metal. Now clasp a pipe wrench onto the duct tape and turn the fitting counterclockwise. Some older pipes might take a little torquing but it will come free eventually. Fill a bucket with CLR. The CLR should be deep enough to completely submerge the shower head. Slowly place the shower head into the Calcium Lime and Rust remover and let it soak for 24 hours. Remove the shower head from the Calcium Lime and Rust remover and scrub the eyelets with a coarse nylon brush. You may rinse the shower head off while you are doing this. Remove any old Teflon tape from the shower pipe coming out of the wall. Apply a new layer of Teflon tape clockwise around the threads. Two layers
